ASTM A193

A193 is a ASTM International specification for bolts and studs. A193 covers alloy steel and stainless steel bolting for pressure vessels, valves, flanges and fittings for high-temperature or high-pressure service, or other special purpose applications.  B7, by far the most common grade, has become the go to specification for high-strength studs and threaded rods across all industries.

A193 Grade B8M, Class 1:

Stainless steel, AISI 316, carbide solution treated.

A193 Grade B16:

Alloy steel, chromium-molybdenum-vanadium, quenched and tempered.
